Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy also known as Leo Tolstoy, a Russian writer who is regarded as one of the greatest authors of all time has written a short story with the title “Three Questions”. It published in 1885 as part of the collection “What Men Live By". It’s about a King who has 3 most important questions in his life, what was the right time for every action, who was the most necessary people, and what the most important thing to do. He wants to discover the answer with all his.
Many men come to the King to give the answer, but none of their answers are agreed by the King. His desire to find the answer brings him to a hermit who lived in a wood. But the hermit didn’t give him any answer.
Even though the hermit didn’t give him the answer, the King still believed that the hermit has the answer. His curiosity made him stayed for a moment in the hermit’s hut. The king helped to finish the hermit’s jobs and he always asked the same questions after he helped him. But the hermit hadn’t given the King any answer.
The King decided to come back to the kingdom. He left the hut gladly because finally he got the answer. The answer is “There is only one time that is important— Now! It is the most important time because it is the only time when we have any power. The most necessary man is he with whom you are, for no man knows whether he will ever have dealings with anyone else, and the most important affair is, to do him good, because for that purpose alone was man sent into this life!”
As a master of realistic fiction, Tolstoy delivered his idea about how to live the life through a unique way. He made it into three answers of three questions that the answer is actually depend on our self and our condition. Act now, with the person you’re with and do them good.
